Diljit learns to play tumba!
Phillauri is Diljit Dosanjh’s second Bolly film, and the first look of his character has already raised a lot of expectations. The actor plays a character close to his real-life — that of a musician in the family entertainer. And as a part of his prep, he had to master the art of playing the tumba. Says a source, “His character is from a certain period or era in the film which is set across a century. And tumba is a popular musical instrument used by folk musicians up North since centuries. So Diljit had to hone his skills of playing the tumba.”
Diljit tells us, “To play my part authentically and make it credible, I learnt to play the tumba. I have heard it being used in Punjabi folk songs since childhood, so I was curious to learn what

ever little I could. As the film’s shoot progressed, I learnt to play it at a basic level, and want to hone this further in the future.”
