454 cases of malaria in nine days, number likely to spike

Ahmedabad: Gujarat does not seem to have got any respite from vector borne diseases. In the first nine days of September, 454 cases of malaria have been reported. A total of 539 cases of vector-borne diseases have been reported for the same period.
These figures are higher than what was reported in August -- 369 cases. Also, there is sudden rise in falciparum cases as first nine days reports 74 cases, against last month's 46 cases.
