Retired Talati kidnapped and killed at Mehsana

A complaint of murder and kidnapping was lodged with the Mehsana police station after a retired Talati (Executive head of Village Panchayat) was kidnapped and murdered by two accused for a ransom of Rs 25lakh.
The incident took place on Monday night in Mehsana. The deceased was identified as Chandrakant Panchal, a resident of Mehsana, who was a retired Talati of Mehsana. According to the police, they recovered a half burn body on Tuesday morning near a dumping yard of Mehsana area. Panchal's son was then informed who is a doctor in Mumbai and a case of kidnapping and murder was lodged with the police station after police came to know about the ransom call received by Panchal's son.
