Swine flu claims 3 more lives in state

Swine flu continues to take a heavy toll on Gujarat as three more patients succumbed to the virus on Wednesday. The death toll in the state since January has now reached 406, the second highest after neighbouring Maharashtra.
The state government, in a release, said that 83 more cases of swine flu were reported in the state in the last 24 hours. The number of confirmed swine flu cases reported in the state this year is nearing 7,000, the highest in the country. However, the release said that new cases of swine flu are continuing to fall. It said that there has been a 40 per cent decline in new cases compared to the previous week.
