DUSU polls: NSUI stuns ABVP, wins top posts

The party won the posts of president and vice-president while rival had to be content with secretary and joint secretary

The Congress-affiliated National Student Union of India (NSUI) on Wednesday made a stunning comeback in the Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) polls after winning the top two posts of President and Vice President, while the RSS-backed Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP), which had dominated the student body for the last four years -- settled for the posts of Secretary and Joint Secretary.
The, Left-backed All India Student Union of India (AISA) which has swept all the four posts in DU in coalition with two other groups, emerged as the third party in DU.
As soon as the trends starting pouring in, NSUI’s followers began to celebrate in the University’s North Campus and at Congress office at 10 Janpath.
