Govt fails to provide school uniforms to students, asks DTTDC to take over

The Delhi government has entrusted Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC) with the task of providing school uniforms studying in state-run schools, after it failed to provide uniforms to 15.5 lakh students by the first day of academic year
In a meeting held on December 6, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia directed the Managing Director, DTTDC, to come out with a plan of action to provide uniforms to students in kind at the earliest.
Till last year, the Delhi government was giving cash to the students for uniforms. But in an affidavit filed in the Delhi High Court, the AAP government has informed that it asked the DTTDC to provide the uniforms in kind instead of money.
