Fatehpur coldest in state, shivers at minus 3.5°C
Temperature dropped to sub-zero level at various divisions of the state; mercury to fall further
The cold wave continued in all divisions of the state for th consecutive day, as the minimum temperature across the state dipped several degrees with Fatehpur Shekhawati freezing at minus 3.5 degrees Celsius. Mercury has dipped below zero degrees celsius at couple of other stations including plains and hills. Though Bikaner witnessed a jump in minimum temperature, no possibilities of relief from chilling winter is expected for next 48 hours, as per reports.
As per the MeT report, cold wave conditions occurred at a few places in Jodhpur, Bikaner and Jaipur divisions. Mount Abu, the only hill station of the state recorded as the coldest in hills where minimum temperature was minus 2.4 degrees celsius and in plains, Churu record

ed the minimum temperature at 0.3 degrees celsius on Wednesday which was 2.3 degrees lower than the minimum temperature recorded on Tuesday. In Jodhpur, the minimum temperature dipped by 2.8 degrees celsius to settle at 5.9 degrees celsius. At couple of places in Jaisalmer also, the minimum temperature dropped to the freezing point in the mercury going in minus degrees. Minimum temperature at Mohangarh and Chandhan was recorded at -1.0 and -0.5 degrees respectively.
Amid the cold wave conditions, Bikaner recorded a minimum temperature of 3.7 degrees celsius which was 1.7 more higher than the minimum temperature recorded on the previous day. The highest minimum temperature in the state was recorded in Kota at 8.1 degrees celsius. MeT department has issued the warning that mercury will fall further in the state and ground frost is likely to occur at isolated places in the state.
