Laptops for toppers on bottom of edu department wishlist

Even though the first half of the academic session in schools is already over, government scheme to provide laptops to meritorious students is yet to be executed. They still await their machines announced by the state government during the annual budget 2012-13.
Surprisingly, the officials of the concerned departments said it would take at least two months to distribute the laptops.
Under the Rajiv Gandhi Digital Vidyarthi Yojana, around 56,000 laptops were to be awarded to meritorious students of classes VIII, X and XII of government schools of the state in the current session. But the government earlier faced a trouble in procuring laptops even after floating tenders.
