Madras HC scraps TN govt’s 85% state quota in UG medical admissions

Chennai: In a far-reaching verdict, Madras High Court on Friday scrapped the Tamil Nadu government order reserving 85 per cent of the state quota seats in the undergraduate medical courses to students who have studied under the state board. Later, Tamil Nadu government announced that it would appeal against the order in the High Court.
Justice K Ravichandra Baabu passed the order on the petition filed by C Darnish Kumar, a CBSE student challenging the government order providing reservation for the state board students.
