Explosion on coastal police's boat at Reti Bunder, two technicians hurt

Nerul: Two technicians sustained burn injuries after the fuel tank of coastal police's boat exploded at Ulwe Reti Bunder on Monday afternoon.
Both of them suffered 45-50% burns. They were admitted to MGM hospital in Belapur and were later shifted to National Burns Centre in Airoli.
The police have identified the injured men as Kuldeep Arjun Mengade, 21, a resident of Borivli and Vibha Tareni Sahu, 26, a resident of Panvel.
Both of them were carrying out some maintenance work aboard a patrol boat around 12.30pm when the incident took place.
"The task of maintaining the boats was given to a private company — Brilliance Seagull — and the victims were employees of that company," said Jitendra Sonawane, senior police
