BMC’s general body meeting sees ruckus over swine flu cases

There was a face-off between ruling Shiv Sena and the Opposition on Friday during the general body meeting of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on the rise of Swine Flu (H1N1) cases in the city. While Opposition blamed civic administration for rise in H1N1 cases, Shiv Sena backed the civic administration and suggested that the opposition should ask their representatives to spread awareness in their respective areas.
Ravi Raja, Congress corporator and leader of Opposition moved a notice of motion on the rise in swine flu cases in the city. He said it is surprising that swine flu cases were reported in May, but the civic health department did not pay attention to it.
