CNG auto, taxi drivers to protest e-token system

The taxi and auto unions have once again threatened to go on a strike. However, this time, they will be protesting the Mahanagar Gas Limited’s (MGL) decision to make online booking for CNG mandatory. The Bombay Autorickshawmen’s Union and Mumbai Taximen’s Union have threatened to stage a protest on December 13.
They will begin this protest at 10 am in front of MGL’s office in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). “We are protesting the mandatory online booking to fill CNG in taxis and auto rickshaws. Majority of taxi and auto rickshaw drivers do not have smart phones nor do they know how to use one for taking these appointments,” said AL Quadros, General Secretary, Mumbai Taximen’s Union.
