Centre’s aid sought for flood relief

Maharashtra government has sought financial assistance of Rs 6,813 crore from the Centre based on preliminary estimates to carry out relief and rehabilitation operations in the flood-ravaged Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur, Nashik districts, Konkan region and rest of Maharashtra.
The state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has given approval for the same and it was decided that till the Centre releases the funds, the government will spend from its natural calamity fund.
