Civic dispensaries to get over 2K lab tests done per day

The much-awaited project “Aapli Chiktsa” wherein patients can get over 130 different laboratory (pathology) tests done at civic dispensaries and peripheral hospitals at a nominal cost, is likely to be rolled out on May 1. More than 2,400, basic as well as advanced tests, will be carried out per day.
In order to ease pressure in major hospitals like the KEM, Nair and other hospitals, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) decided to start “Aapli Chiktsa” wherein peripheral hospitals and dispensaries will be strengthened. “Laboratory tests of blood glucose, malaria, dengue, CBC, urine can be done peripheral dispensaries and patients do not need to visit major hospitals,” said a senior civic official.
