Heavy vehicle rule: Residents urge strict implementation

A day after the Mumbai traffic police issued notification of restricting heavy vehicles from plying in South Mumbai for 17 hours, the residents have asked for strict implementation of the order.
According to commuters, despite an old traffic police notification that restricted heavy vehicles from plying on road for 12 hours, they regularly witnessed heavy traffic congestion as those vehicles would ply on roads even during the 12 hour period stipulated. The new notification has only increased the duration.
