OBC students to get autonomous body to sharpen skill sets

Ahead of ensuing assembly elections, the BJP-led government is trying to strengthen its support base by wooing other backward classes (OBCs), denotified tribes and socially backward classes (SBCs).
It will set up an autonomous institute to provide training and scholarships to students from these communities for higher education in and outside the country. The proposed institute, which will be formed on the lines of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI) and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI), will be operational in a month.
