We haven’t taken many catches at slips, we will get better: Pujara

New Delhi: Of the many boxes that India ticked in this series against Sri Lanka, a big one that remained blank was the slip catching, which left a lot to be desired especially in the third Test here.
Experienced Sri Lanka batsman Angelo Mathews was twice dropped in the slip region during his century in the first innings, and was again let off with a catch put down at mid-off. Besides that, opener Dilruwan Perera was also dropped at second slip.
While Virat Kohli & Co’s overall fielding standards have improved, slip catching is something India will badly need to pull their socks up before the tour of South Africa.
