DUSU, JNUSU polls differ in every way

New Delhi: The essential differences between the two varsities became explicit on Friday when Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) voted for its students union in a peaceful manner. Just a day before, results of Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections were marked by clashes and charges of tampering with voting machines.
DUSU and JNUSU polls are sharply chiselled individuals, differing in all elements. In DU, muscle and spending power stir the pot, with a deep undertone of caste. National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) pitched Jaat and Gujjar candidates to woo the communities by laying enough emphasis on their surnames.
