Delhi HC nixes JNU move on 15 students

New Delhi: Holding that the principles of natural justice were not followed while taking disciplinary action against 15 students of JNU, including former students’ union president Kanhaiya Kumar, the Delhi High court on Thursday set aside the order imposing various punishments on them in connection with an event held on February 9, 2016. The event was organised against the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, during which anti-national slogans were allegedly raised.
While setting aside the order of the Disciplinary Committee of the varsity, Justice V Kameswar Rao said the students were given limited time to inspect the records based on which the actions were taken against them.
