HP to vote on Nov 9, Gujarat in Dec

Ahmedabad: The much-awaited announcement regarding the dates of the Gujarat assembly elections did not take place on Thursday, but going by the Election Commission's indications, the elections are likely to be held between December 10 and 15.
While announcing the dates of Himachal Pradesh assembly elections, Chief Election Commissioner Achal Kumar Joti said the schedule of Gujarat elections would be announced separately. He, however, said the elections will be held before December 18, the day counting of votes in Himachal Pradesh, where voting will be held on November 9.
"This is being done to ensure that the voting pattern of one state does not affect the other state," he said.
