Pune doc sneaks tantrik into ICU to ward off ‘evil energies’

Pune: The medical profession was shamed when a video clip of a godman performing rituals on a patient inside the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the reputed Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital went viral on Tuesday. The clip shows the doctor, now identified as Dr Satish Chavan, standing beside the patient, Sandhya Sonawane’s bed. Sonawane’s relatives say Dr Chavan, brought the godman to the ICU on March 11.
The 24-year-old patient was brought to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Erandawne on February 21 and admitted to the ICU. However, her condition deteriorated and according to hospital administration, she died after multiple organ failure on Monday.
Apparently, Dr Chavan runs a hospital in Swargate and Sonawane had approached him
