Anhad, an NGO, is organising the Kabir Festival on Saturday at Gujarat Vidyapeeth wherein a special documentary movie 'Had Anhad' directed by Shabnam Virmani will be screened.
The movie is based on a 15th century mystic poet Kabir, who defied the boundaries created by religion. Despite being raised as a Muslim, Kabir's poetry repeatedly invokes the widely revered Hindu name for God - Ram. The film with the help of songs and poems takes the audience through the politics of religion, and finds myriad answers on both sides of the hostile border between India and Pakistan. Folk singers Prahlad Tipaniya and Mukhtiyar Ali will also be performing in the evening.
