‘Don’t miss House if you’ve asked question’
New Delhi: Members of Parliament asking a question and then being absent from the House is a practice that Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu does not approve of.
On Tuesday Naidu made it clear that this is not a good practice, observing that some MPs who had put up questions were not present during question hour.
“Surprisingly, five or six members who had questions listed against their names did not turn up. They have the liberty. I don’t deny it. At the same time, we have a responsibility. If you file a question, so much time, energy and resources are spent. Not coming to the House is not a good practice. Keep that in mind,” he said.
