Mumbai: For long now, the keyword in Indian hockey has been ‘process’. Most of the foreign coaches that came into the system harped on that term, highlighting the importance of long-term growth over short-term results. From Terry Walsh to Paul van Ass to Roelant Oltmans, the three coaches that were in charge of the senior men’s team over the last four years have time and again spoken about focussing on 2020 or 2024 Olympics and developing a strong program to excel then.
