In this day and age when one barely manages the time to get by with a job, there is a man who was found to the director of three educational institutes! Recently, the Gujarat Technological University (GTU) found, through a local inquiry committee (LIC), that one person was serving as director at 3 different pharmacy and MBA institutes in state.
The news came to the fore when the committee inspected the documents and designations of the three institutes located in Botad, Aniyad village (Panchmahals) and Ahmedabad respectively, stated a GTU official.
“It was shocking for us to find the same person listed as director in three pharmacy and MBA institutes. The person, a native of West Bengal has a double-PhD in pharmacy and busin

ess administration subjects. This made him an eligible applicant for the post and he got selected as well,” said the official.
When varsity officials conducted the first hearing of this strange case, a trustee of the involved Botad-based college, appeared alongside the accused. “We have proof that his name is registered as the director in official documents of these three institutes. We will have to check if he still continues to be director at the other two institutes. We have called trustees and officials from these institutes and are looking for further evidence,” said a senior official of GTU.
Official said that if proved guilty, they might advertise to blacklist the person from being appointed in any post in GTU-affiliated colleges. Corridors of the GTU are abuzz with talks of the same person caught one and half years ago in a similar situation. “Back then, he was serving as director of two institutes. However, he moved out of Gujarat fearing action against him. Now, he has finally landed in our net,” said another varsity official.
