BMC receives 773 pothole plaints, claims 83% resolved

Says WhatsApp helpline in 24 wards helped civic body tackle complaints quicker

Since the monsoon arrived, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has received a total of 773 complaints of potholes across the city’s 24 administrative wards. The civic body claims that it has resolved around 83 per cent complaints while they will address the remaining complaints at the earliest.
Before the rains could lash the city, the BMC had provided each ward office with a WhatsApp number which residents could use to complain about potholes, if they spotted any. The number which is attended by a ward officer delegates the work upon receiving a complaint. As per the figure provided by the road department of BMC, of the 773 complaints, 641 have already been addressed.
