BMC to go to polls on February 21

Mumbai: Even as the State Election Commission (SEC) sounded the bugle for elections to 10 municipal corporations, including the cash-rich Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, 25 zilla parishads and 283 panchayat samitis on Wednesday, the Shiv Sena and the BJP seem to be prevaricating on entering into an alliance in the Mumbai civic body. The saffron alliance has ruled the BMC for four consecutive terms since 1997.
The SEC has scheduled the date for voting on February 21 and that for counting on February 23.
While Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray said that they were yet to receive a proposal from the BJP for an alliance, he mentioned in the same breath that the two parties had deputed three representatives each fo
