Builder cons two, at large

Kalamboli police has registered a cheating case against a Vashi builder for selling one flat to two people in three months interval.
According to the police, the builder Shirish Rangrao Chavan, 38, who runs Suraj Enterprises sold a flat in Suraj Apartmant at sector 16, to Prakash Raut. Later, Raut found out that the flat that he had bought in October, 2011, was already sold to another person in July, 2011.
"Chavan's Vashi office was shut and with his phone switched off, he is untraceable. Further investigations revealed that two more people were cheated in a same way. In all, three flats were sold to six people with two people buying each flat respectively," a police officer from Kalamboli police station, said.Read full story
