Chain link fencing in ‘sensitive’ villages to stop rising tide of four-legged infiltrators

To prevent loss of human life due to conflict with animals, the state government will erect chain link fencing around the boundaries of "sensitive" villages near forests to prevent wild animals from encroaching into human habitations.
The state cabinet on Tuesday approved a pilot project, which will see Rs 100 crore being invested in a span of two years. This experimental project is being undertaken through the state forest department's Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Jan Van Yojana. Finance and forests minister Sudhir Mungantiwar had announced this in the budget.
