Five former Congressmen find place in Rawat’s cabinet

New Delhi: Trivendra Singh Rawat, among the lesser known names in Uttarakhand politics, took the oath of chief minister in the presence of top BJP leadership that included Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and cabinet ministers Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda and Uma Bharti.
Rawat, 56, a trusted RSS worker is known for his fierce loyalty to the BJP and closeness to Amit Shah. He has a clean image with no cases against his name. Rawat’s wife works as a teacher in a government school and has two daughters.
