Yuvraj begins training at NCA and targets World T20 as his return to active cricket
Star Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who underwent treatment for cancer earlier this year, is targeting the World T20 for his return to active cricket. The all-rounder began training at the National Cricket Academy here on Monday in a bid to regain match fitness. He was mostly involved in indoor training on Monday.
"I am in the second week of rehab," Yuvraj told a huge media contingent that was waiting outside NCA. "I'm in the second stage and feeling good. My body will become stronger slowly and the World T20 is my target. Hopefully, I can be ready a little before the event.
"People expect me to make a comeback very quickly. However, I don't want to rush it. I will have to take my time and come back

100 per cent fit. I am trying to do that before the World T20," he added.
The explosive batsman who will continue to train at the NCA for some time said he was overwhelmed by the concern and love shown by cricket lovers. "The response has been great and overwhelming. I feel very loved and the wishes of the whole country matters. I want to come back and play for India, that's my goal. However, it is not very easy on the body since I have gone through a lot of shock," he stated.
Though Yuvraj has begun to do a bit of batting, he said he was not sure when he would actually start playing. "I have started batting again but I have to check the schedule. I may play a few tourneys in South, maybe in August," he said. "I need to strengthen my body first. I need to do cardio workouts and work on my body for one-and-a-half months."
Besides Yuvraj, Irfan Pathan, Ishant Sharma, RP Singh and Varun Aaron are also training at the NCA. Virender Sehwag is said to have reported on Monday. It was also learnt that the other centrally contracted players will arrive in batches over the next two weeks for fitness assessment.
