As the term of the current garbage contractor is ending, he has not been clearing garbage

Outsiders know Navi Mumbai as a well-planned city, but the residents here have been complaining of garbage dump and foul smell of sewage.
"The situation is same in other nodes of the city be it Vashi, Turbhe or Nerul. Go anywhere in the city and you will find garbage scattered on the roads and overflowing bins," said Amit Chaturvedi, a resident of sector 9 in Vashi.
The term of the current garbage contractor is ending so he has not been lifting garbage from various nodes on a regular basis. He added, "Now the monsoon is here and the civic body should made the arrangements before the rains to clear this mess.
