Mixed bag for Gujarat cos in attracting FIIs

Foreign institutional investors increased their stake in 14 out of 30 most valuable Gujarat companies in 2014-15
Sintex, Dishman, Symphony and Suzlon are some of the companies that saw FIIs increasing their holdings
Arvind, AIA Engineering, Adani Enterprises and Gujarat Gas saw biggest decline in FII holding in the fiscal


Ahmedabad: The year 2014-15, which saw foreign institutional investors (FIIs) pouring in record money in Indian equity markets, was a mixed bag for Gujarat companies as far as attracting FIIs is concerned. Some companies such as Suzlon Energy, Sintex and Dishman have seen a sharp rise in FII holdings during the financial year, even as it declined in the case of companies such as Arvind and AIA Engineering.
FIIs poured in close to $45 billion (approximately Rs2.75 lakh crore) in Indian equity markets in the last financial year, which is believed to have been the highest ever invested in the country in a single year.
