Cong spokesperson raises aircraft procurement issue in run-up to Gujarat polls

New Delhi: A day after BJP sought to ‘taint’ Congress general secretary in-charge for Gujarat Ashok Gehlot over Potash scam, the Congress on Tuesday hit back alleging a ‘huge scam” in the procurement of 36 ‘Rafale Fighter Aircrafts’ from Dassault Aviation of France.
Accusing the Modi government of compromising ‘national interests’ and ‘national security’, Congress communication chief Randeep Surjewala alleged that Modi government announced the purchase deal of the fighter aircrafts without following defence procurement procedure, and helped a private company in bypassing the interests of a reputed public sector undertaking like Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
