New MDFA season kicks off
The 2012 edition of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) league began at the St Xavier's grounds at Parel on Sunday. Four Division Three matches took place, with three victories and a draw.
The first match saw Worli Sports beat Kingston FC by a 3-0 margin.
Other winners were Shreenathnagar, Chera Nagar and BARC, who won by a 1-0, 3-0 and 2-0 margin respectively.
The only draw of the day saw Stedfast being beld by Chandralok FC. Both teams slugged it out to end at two goals apiece. However, there was a slight glitch, as some locals wanted to play when the matches were going on. Sources claim that they even threatened to hold up the games next weekend.
