He made his debut in Bollywood with the critically acclaimed film ‘Bolo Raam’ that also featured veteran stars like Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Padmini Kolhapure, Rajpal Yadav, among others. This 2010 release had his senior co-stars praising him for his work. dna afterhrs speaks to Rishi Bhutani, who is yet to create a dynamic impact in the industry, only to realise that his hands are full with three films, and is looking forward to more quality work. hra, Amit Shukla and the likes. It is a political satire. The film I shot in Delhi – is a student based film. Coming back to the French film, it is a thriller and is slated to release in August. I have a three film sign with the French guys. Currently, I am also shooting for a Tamil film in Thailand.
A little about your past work
I have done a short film titled ‘LOC – a playground’ which received 18 awards across the globe. I received the best actor award in the French Film Festival and that is how I bagged the French films as lead. My last film, a Tamil film, released in November 2014, ‘Pilippu Inippu’. Interestingly and luckily for me, I have done three films back-to-back with Om Puri. The first film was ‘Bolo Raam’, next was ‘Jai Jawaan Jai Kisaan’ and third is current film ‘Gandhigiri’. For me it is a hatrick with him.
Journey from software engineering to films
I did my bachelors and masters in computers. I really worked hard towards it. And achieved it too, hence, I guess I lost interest in it too. Then I heard that acting was a tough thing to do so, I decided to pursue it. I don’t like anything that is easily achievable. I am glad it is tough yet endearing.
A fitness freak
I workout seven days a week; I don’t take a break. Morning I gym and evening I do cardio. I listen to my body and workout accordingly. Also, I think 95% it is about dieting too, even if you don’t work out. Whenever I break my diet my body changes and hence, I believes that dieting is very important.
Rishi is currently also pursuing theatre in addition to acting in films. He feels it is important to follow and work on your passion.
