Riverfront to extend 21 km more in phase II of project

Rs350 crore project will extend from Shahibaug Dafnala to Indira Bridge

Gandhinagar: In the second phase of the project, the state has decided to develop the riverfront along the Shahibaug Dafnala to Indira Bridge stretch. The cabinet gave the nod to the development in a meeting held on Wednesday.
The special purpose vehicle company Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL) will spend an estimated Rs350 crore for the expansion of the riverfront. Deputy CM Nitin Patel said, "The second phase of riverfront will stretch along 7km on both the sides of the Sabarmati river. The construction will start soon and will provide another road for domestic traffic from Ahmedabad to the airport and Gandhinagar."
The second phase is expected to culminate in three years.
