Shooter Shriyanka bags gold in Germany
After winning laurels in Czech Republic, India's junior shooters made a promising start to the 18th International Junior Competition at Suhl in Germany on Friday.
Shriyanka Sadangi, who had won a team bronze in the 10m air rifle event along with Tejaswini Muley and Meghana Sajjanar in Czech Republic, won an individual gold and team silver in the same event on Friday.
Shriyanka scored an impressive 398 in the qualification round and then shot 102.9 to total 500.9 in the final.
Interestingly, Shriyanka clinched the gold with a margin of mere 0.1 point. She was placed third till the ninth shot in the final, but her 10th shot was a 10.8, which ensured her the gold.
Meanwhile, the Indian girls missed the team gold by a whisker.
