Craftsvilla.com boasts an array of handicrafts ranging from apparel to home décor that you can have delivered to your loved ones at the click of a button! Founders Monica and Manoj Gupta, tell us more about their endeavour
Why did you start Craftsvilla?
The idea came to us after a trip to Kutch; we met so many artisans who weren’t getting a fair price for their handicrafts because of the middlemen. We realised that by eliminating that we could make these products available to the public at cheaper rates and ensure the artisans a bigger profit.
What products do you procure from different parts of the country?
From jewellery to furniture, we have it all! We even sell health and beauty products. We mainly get our furniture from Rajasthan and Gujarat. Our beauty products come from North India. We have jewellery from almost every state of the country. Apart from pure gold and silver, we also have jewellery made

out of terracotta and beads.
Where are you planning on setting up Craftsvilla studios next?
We are trying to cover the entire country so we can represent artisans and handicrafts from every nook and corner of India. We already have studios in Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur and Bangalore. Jaipur is the handicrafts hub! Bangalore represents artisans from the South and Delhi covers Agra, Moradabad and surrounding areas. To complete the North, South, East and West vision we have, we are opening studios in Kolkata and Ahmedabad next.
Is your customer base exclusively Indian?
Not at all, we have buyers across the globe! It’s very interesting that our international customers are not only NRIs. We have a large clientele in Singapore, Australia, USA and UK.
Do you have any plans for expansion?
Right now we are concentrating on our online market. We have around 40,000 products as of now and we might open a retail store a year down the line.
