Why too much of dark content isn’t a great sign for Indian TV

Almost every six months, a new supernatural show is being launched with great fanfare on Indian TV. Well, the fact is, they are the biggest money-spinners for some channels. However, the excess of such dark content on Indian TV is kind of worrisome. Keeping aside the poor quality of some of the productions, it reflects a complete lack of originality. Dark content has signalled the dark age of Indian TV at a time when television stars are making waves globally and on social media. We are in no way looking down on Indian supernatural serials as many consume the genre. But it is getting excessive and that is kind of boring. Here are three issues that come to our minds, thanks to the overdose of naagins and chudails on the small screen…
