With no money available, J & K’s Ranji participation in doubt

New Delhi: With the financial irregularities in Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) still being probed into by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refusing to release any funds, the cricketing activities in the state have come to a standstill as there are no funds available.
And, if the situation continues for a few more days, there is every possibility that J&K may not even be able to play the coveted Ranji Trophy this season. This, despite the fact that the BCCI has already announced the four groups of 28 teams for the upcoming season starting on October 6. J&K have been placed in Group B with Jharkhand, Gujarat, Kerala, Saurashtra, Haryana and Rajasthan.
