Chennaiyin beat Pune to go atop table

Mumbai: After missing a penalty in the first half, Chennaiyin FC needed a late winner from Gregory Nelson to put it across FC Pune City in an Indian Super League encounter in Chennai on Saturday.
The 1-0 victory took Chennaiyin to the top of the ISL table, opening up a two-point lead.
Nelson’s calm finish in the 83rd minute was the difference between the two sides at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium as the visitors’ wretched record against Chennaiyin continued. Pune have never won against Chennaiyin in eight meetings now.
The victory takes Chennaiyin to 20 points from 10 games while Bengaluru FC are second with 18 points.
