Mumbai: A luckless but fighting Indian football team went down to hosts UAE 0-2 in their second Group A match of the AFC Asian Cup in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
The Blue Tigers play Bahrain in their last match on January 14, and will need at least a draw to make the knockouts stage for the first time since 1964.
On a day when the Indians hit the goalpost twice in the second half and muffed chances in the first, Khalfan Mubarak’s 41st minute strike and Ali Mabkhout’s 88th-minute winner sealed it for UAE.
