Felt bad, apologised to Smith for boos: Kohli

Mumbai: Virat Kohli and Steve Smith have been fiercest rivals on and off the field in the past, but it seems to have changed dramatically with a heart-warming gesture by the India captain during the game against Australia at the Oval in London on Sunday.
Former Australia captain Smith, back after serving a year-long ban for the infamous ball-tampering scandal, has been booed by fans all over England during the World Cup despite doing well with the bat.
With a sea of blue cheering for India at The Oval on Sunday, Smith was booed again by a section of the Indian fans who also chanted “cheater, cheater”. But that’s when Kohli, who was batting in the middle, signalled to the fans to stop booing and instead clap for him.
