New Delhi: Whispers of a possible unity of Opposition parties to take on the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) gained momentum as Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and two chief ministers -- Mamata Banerjee and Navin Patnaik--went into a huddle in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
These meetings indicate the preparations for the 2019 polls, in which the Opposition is exploring the idea of identifying 300 Lok Sabha seats all over the country for a direct contest with the BJP-led NDA, sources said. The idea, though at a nascent stage, is aimed at ensuring no division of opposition votes.
