Mumbai: The community has rallied around a Ghatkopar family that lost its life savings in the share market to help them tide over difficult times. DNA had reported about 68-year-old Ranjanben Desai, her son Bijalbhai (44) and daughter (45) found living at BEST bus stop in Patidarwadi, with all their belonging tied up in a few cloth bags.
Through a local activist’s efforts, members of the Jain community put a roof over their heads, supplied meals and even got Bijal a job. Nilesh Purabia, who lives in Ghatkopar, has given them a unit in Jay Ambe Chawl, Vikhroli. “I have also made arrangements for daily meals and Bijalbhai now works in my friend’s garment shop as a salesman,” said the Good Samaritan. “He will draw a salary of 10,00
