PM looks for fillip ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections

Facing challenges on multiple fronts in the midst of reversal of fortune in the Karnataka assembly elections and several bypolls during the fifth year of his governance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday asked his ministers to gear up for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in earnest. In a meeting with his entire council of ministers that consists of 73 ministers, PM Modi reviewed all the flagship schemes of his government to find out their exact status.
In the meeting, the ministers were tasked to bring out the actual position on the ground — what has been the outcome of the schemes, where they have not fared well and why and what could be done to improve the delivery in the shortest period of time.
