AIADMK chief lodged in Bengaluru Central Jail

Chennai: A day after the Supreme Court restored her conviction in the disproportionate assets (DA) case, AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala was lodged in Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Jail on Wednesday to serve the remainder of her four-year sentence.
Sasikala along with her sister-in-law J Ilavarasi and nephew V N Sudhakaran surrendered before the Special Court judge, Ashwathnarayana, hours after the Supreme Court rejected her plea for more time to surrender. For security reasons, the court hall where Sasikala, a long-time aide of the late Jayalalithaa, surrendered was shifted from the heart of the Bengaluru city to the Central Jail.
