City boy tastes success with a 'Pinch of Salt'

Ahmedabad: City boy Tanmay Shah has a dozen reasons to celebrate! His 12-minute documentary has bagged 12 international awards. Pinch of Salt is based on the lives of 30,000 salt pan workers in the Rann of Kutch, and with all the awards notched in a span of four months, Shah, 26, is definitely the toast of the festival circuit.
The Award of Excellence at the Headline International Film Festival in Canada was the most recent feather he added to his cap.
Besides being a semi-finalist in two festivals, the film has also been officially selected in seven international film festivals. These include festivals in the US, Canada, UK, Russia, Germany, Spain, Romania, and Serbia.
