How did art enter your life?
The environment in which I grew up, was full of art, as my father Khetaram was a painter. He taught painting at a school in Sardarshahar. One can say that painting is in my blood. I ventured into this field at the age of 15.
How has your work evolved over the years?
I started with portraits, and then moved to painting. I have been capturing Rajasthani culture and traditions, rural beauty, crafts and textiles. Only in 2003, when I first exhibited in Jaipur and Delhi, did my work come into limelight and bring me recognition.
